This dark and closed-in farmhouse had not been updated since it was built in the 60’s. We started by opening up the walls in the kitchen to create an open floor plan into the living and dining rooms. We installed custom cabinets, granite countertops, subway tile backsplash, a large center island with seating, high end appliances and the undercabinet lighting to create a warm and inviting space.
We then worked our way through the house raising the sunk-in living room floor to match the rest of the floor plan and opening everything up to give it a nice flow. We replaced all of the flooring throughout the house with a ceramic tile and remodeled the master bedroom and bathroom (as well as a guest room and bath) with custom cabinets, tiled showers with glass enclosures, new plumbing & lighting fixtures and heated tile floors.
The house was opened up with updated light features throughout. The homeowner did a great job selecting all of the finishes, picking paint colors, and helping with design ideas. This beautiful revamped home is ready to enjoy for years to come.
I hired Fatboy Construction to do a major remodel of my 1970’s home and have just finished the final phase of the two phase project. I could not have asked for a more positive experience and love, love, love the results. They walked me through every aspect of the project and gave helpful advice and suggestions along the way. Before the start of each phase they brought in a dedicated project manager and their subcontractors to walk through the space to come up with a proposal that met my needs for each phase. The actual costs came in within budget with the exception of some changes I made to the design during the project and even on those occasions they looked for ways to cut cost in other areas to make up for the changes. The project manager/office manager was outstanding with communication throughout the project. Every member of their team was professional, courteous, helpful, and caring. I have highly recommend Fatboy Construction to fellow colleagues, friends and clients and I would not hesitate to call on them again for future construction needs.
